There are a lot of reasons that South Carolina becomes your destination for putting down roots. It could be that you found that perfect job or you feel the need to slow down just a little. Or, you could also be coming here to attend one of our many colleges. Whatever the reason (or reasons), there may be a few things that you might not expect and to that end, I’ve put together 18 of them to give you that little boost.
All the locally grown food is organic food around here. It's almost everywhere you turn.

Many will argue that it's not real moonshine, and whether or not it is, some of these distilleries offer tours.
Not only do we have beautiful vineyards that you can tour, but we have some of the most tasty wine around.
You probably would never have thought that there were cideries here in South Carolina. It's certainly not the first thing you think of.
We have many historical sites for you to peruse at your leisure. Historical road trips make for nice weekend getaways.
We have over 400+ museums here in South Carolina including odd and unusual museums such as the Kazoo Museum, The Button King Museum, and the Teapot Museum.
South Carolina has many natural and state parks. We do love to preserve as much of our natural land as possible.
Many types of outdoor adventure await you here in South Carolina! Including: ziplining, whitewater rafting, and parasailing among many others.
We have many restaurants here in South Carolina that will keep you coming back again and again, but we also have some notably famous ones that have been highlighted on Food Network shows.
Whatever your taste in music, we'll probably be playing it somewhere in the state. It's not unusual to find many of our towns putting on Friday concerts during the summer months.
It's not just Clemson Vs. Carolina or football in general. We have tennis, horse racing, car racing, motor cross, baseball, basketball...You name it and we love to be there cheering it on.
It can take you totally by surprise and put you in absolute shock when you first experience one of our hottest summer days.
No, this is not an actual picture of a SC beach, but it does make a point of how fast it seems you go from one to the other. It takes less than half a day in most cases. Just a snap of the fingers really.
