Tether the whole family together in an Edisto River floatilla and spend some quality time together on the scenic Edisto River. The Edisto is one of the longest blackwater rivers in North America, and flows for more than 250 miles to the ACE Basin. Thankfully, this float trip isn't quite that long. The trip lasts 2-3 hours. Learn more about it from the official website for Edisto River Adventures.
Escape from the city for a few hours with a relaxing float down the Congaree River, wrapping up your trip just after passing underneath the historic Gervais Street Bridge. Don't expect any part of this trip to be boring, there are some mild rapids to look forward to, too! Learn more at this link.
3. River Island Adventures - North Myrtle Beach/Longs
Camp, kayak and tube at this riverside oasis just outside of N. Myrtle Beach. And if you're an overnight guest, you can also purchase an all-day river tubing pass. Rent a cooler tube and enjoy a fun-filled adventure on the beautiful Waccamaw River. What more do you need? Learn more from River Island Adventures here.
Before the naysayers weigh in about alligators, we’d like to pose two thoughts: (1) congratulations… you’ve just survived a pandemic, the likes of which the world hasn’t seen in over a century, and (2) if alligators were an issue in these rivers, then how do you think these tubing companies would get insurance? C’mon. You’ve been stuck inside for weeks… it’s time to live a little, wouldn’t you say?
From the Congaree to the Waccamaw and the scenic Edisto, these river tubing trips in South Carolina promise loads of family fun this summer. Think you can tube all three rivers by summer’s end?
