The Story Behind This Haunted Ship In South Carolina Is Truly Creepy
With hundreds of years under her belt, the Charleston area is easily one of the most haunted places in the South. But there’s a ship in the harbor with a much shorter history of less than a hundred years, and she is considered by some to be among the most haunted places in the Lowcountry. Take a look:
During WWII, Yorktown earned 12 battlestars and the Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism in action. Yorktown later went on to earn five more battlestars during the Vietnam War.
There are many daily tours offered for those interested in seeing the innerworkings of this battle legend - or for those interested in a possible ghostly encounter. It's a faily common occurrence for guests on the Yorktown to feel a nudge from someone who just isn't there. Apparations spring up out of the blue, and cold spots occur in the weirdest places - even in the middle of summer.
Some people leave the tour feeling disappointed they didn't see a ghost, but then they get home and look at the photos taken and find a completely different story.
