Happiness is one of the factors that depends on the quality and quantity of a person’s life. It’s a scientific fact that people who laugh, smile, and who are generally pleased with with their lives tend to live longer than those who are none of these things.
It’s of no surprise that they did a study on which states were the happiest overall and ranked which towns/cities in those states were the happiest. Many factors went into deciding this such as: Restaurants, crime rate, commute, departure time, income, divorce rate, and housing among others. Here are 13 of the happiest cities in South Carolina.
It seems that Aiken residents are happy due to the fact that they have reasonably priced housing and bring home a paycheck that's a bit larger than the surrounding cities. They also have great entertainment and superb restaurants.

This small growing place just outside of Columbia seems to be pretty happy with their lives due to income and the fact that housing is relatively affordable.
Residents of Beaufort seem to be pretty happy overall. I think it may have something to do with the sea air and fresh seafood that can hit their plates. However they also have a nice income and housing is affordable without breaking the bank.
According to the stats, the residents of Fountain Inn have a few reasons to grin like Cheshire cats. It seems that this small town of approximately 8,000 people don't have a very long commute every day, bring home a nice bit of change at the end of the week, and renting or buying a home here is not like buying a 1-bedroom in NYC!
Camden is the oldest inland city of South Carolina and apparently one of the happiest as well. The median income here is around 50,000/year which would make me smile too. They also have a shorter commute to work than average and the restaurant to people ratio is really good.
Apparently the residents of Orangeburg travel on average 14 minutes every day for work, which is quite nice to say the least. They feel pretty safe in their town and restaurant to people ratio is rather good.
The residents of Greenville have a lot to be happy about. Their incomes are rather nice at an average of 40,000/year, the commute is not too shabby, and the entertainment and lifestyle is quite optimum.
Everyone knows that Charleston is the place to go if you're looking for great history and tourist spots, but it's also a place where people live and live happily. It's the sea air and the nightlife.
