Jigger's Diner's beginnings actually date all the way back to 1917, when Vilgot 'Jigger' Lindberg opened a small hamburger and hot dog restaurant called Lindy's.

In 1928, Lindberg moved his lunch cart to Wickford Village and put a diner in its place.
The diner was an instant hit, and rumor has it that customers stood three deep behind the stools waiting their turn.

Lindberg left the restaurant business in 1941, when Lenny Boren took things over.
In 1950, Boren and his partner replaced the old diner with the present one.

The diner changed hands several times before closing briefly in the early 1980s. Luckily, it has been back in operation since 1992.
