This Old Chapel In Rhode Island Is Now One Of The Most Beautiful Restaurants In The World

This property has a remarkable history that dates all the way back to 1866, when it was constructed as the Sockanosset School for Boys, a world-renowned juvenile detention facility that was open until 1985.

The current chapel was built in 1891. And many (many) years later, in 1998, it was converted into this magical restaurant.

The lounge, known as the Cathedral Bar, still features the impressive walls of the original chapel.

Stained glass windows glow at sunset, and the huge wooden chandelier was inspired by William Blake's watercolor "Ancient of Days."

This is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, bring a date, or just visit when you're in the mood for a delicious meal in a remarkable setting. It's even family-friendly, complete with a kids' menu.
