This restored farmhouse in Pittsburgh promises a truly unique dining experience – from the authentic 19th century ambiance to the scrumptious selection of entrees.

Embrace the warm ambiance of an historic farmhouse where you can sit down to a scrumptious meal at 1844 Restaurant in Leechburg, just 45 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.

The enchanting restaurant earned its name as 1844 was the first year the farmhouse had taxes accessed on it. The building served as a farmhouse until 1972.

That year, the restoration process began and, just two years later, 1844 Restaurant opened under the leadership of Robert Gorelli.

Today, the restored farmhouse maintains much of its 19th century charm - from a roaring fireplace to delicate chandeliers.

Drink in the ambiance of the farmhouse before you peruse the menu that's known for its prime rib. But, first, consider the tantalizing appetizers, such as the shrimp cocktail, fried mozzarella, or crab stuffed mushrooms.

Or, start with a fresh, crispy salad. The house salad, grilled romaine Caesar, apple and walnut, and beet arugula are among your choices.

Of course, you'll also have an impressive selection of entrees. If you're not in the mood for prime rib, consider the filet mignon, chicken Marsala, or the wild shrimp selection.
