The Bagel Shop In Pennsylvania That’s So Good They Keep Selling Out
Lakeside Bagel & Deli in Pennsylvania offers made-from-scratch, old-school bagels with a variety of flavors and homemade spreads.
Bagels just make a perfect meal. Kick off your day with a toasted bagel, slathered in cream cheese, for breakfast. Opt for a bagel, topped with freshly-made chicken salad, for lunch. Or just indulge in a flavored bagel - from blueberry to pickle (yep, you read right) - for a hearty snack. But if you want to experience the true deliciousness of an old-school bagel, get to this bagel shop in Pennsylvania early in the day before your favorite flavors sell out.
Tucked in a building that once housed a car dealership, Lakeside Bagel & Deli first opened its doors in 1995.
Owned and run by locals Tony and Deanna Arnt, the popular bagel shop serves made-from-scratch, old school bagels daily.
In fact, everything - the chicken salad, egg salad, hummus, tuna salad, and assortment of cream cheeses - is made from scratch.
The New York-style bagels themselves are first boiled in a kettle before baking in the oven.
Start your visit by browsing the many flavors - from sesame and poppy to blueberry and cinnamon raisin - of freshly-baked bagels.
From time to time, expect the unexpected - like pickle-flavored bagels and green bagels for St. Patrick's Day.
Then decide what type of homemade cream cheese you'd like to spread on your bagel. Flavors include regular, light, cinnamon butter, chocolate chip, and bacon-jalapeno.
Of course, bagels also make a great sandwich for breakfast or for lunch. The menu features such delicious bagel sandwiches as egg and cheese, roast beef, tuna, and vegetarian.
Visit Lakeside Bagel & Deli from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
