A two-day battle, the Battle of Bushy Run, took place in August 1763. It resulted in a British victory, ensuring that Fort Pitt in nearby Pittsburgh would remain under British control. The British lost an estimated 60 soldiers during the battle.
Today, the historic battlefield in Pennsylvania draws both history buffs and ghost hunters to explore some of its 213 acres – the final resting place of those who died during those two days.
