This Tiny Pennsylvania Village Is The Grandest Winter Wonderland You’ll Ever Visit
Snow just makes everything so bright, so pretty, especially as it’s tumbling down in big snowflakes. And, it often makes us feel as though we’ve stepped into a real life winter wonderland. If you’re still on the hunt for day trips or weekend getaways this winter, plan a visit to this tiny Pennsylvania village that looks as though it belongs on a holiday greeting card.
Journey to the enchanting village of Eagles Mere, home to only 150 year round residents, to experience a magical winter wonderland, especially after a fresh snowfall.
Stroll through the charming village, where you can snap photos of a picturesque footbridge, a snow-capped gazebo, and snow-covered boats, waiting for spring to arrive.
There, you can climb aboard a toboggan and zip down the hill. Head back up the hill and slide down again before warming up with hot chocolate at the bottom of the hill.
By now, you're probably craving something delicious to stop that grumbling in your stomach. Sit down for a delightfully delicious meal at AC Little's Drinkery or The Barn Tavern.
Or, if you're up for a little outdoor fun, drive to nearby Worlds End State Park or Ricketts Glen State Park, both of which offer plenty to do all year around.
Of course, a day might not be enough time in a winter wonderland like Eagles Mere. Check into one of the village's charming hotels, such as the Eagles Mere Inn (below) or the Crestmont Inn.
