You Won’t Want To Miss This Awesome Craft Fair Near Portland
Knitters, crocheters and other fiber crafters will love this incredible festival that features the full spectrum of natural fibers from animal to finished product. Whether you are looking to score some amazingly handmade yarn or simply watch the animal show, the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival is one fascinating event you are not going to want to miss.
The animals are the stars of the show, as their coats are what make it all possible. From pygora goats to ...
Angora rabbits ...
To Merino sheep...
To llamas, this festival has the best of the best show livestock.
Throughout the weekend event, livestock will be shown and judged as part of the festival.
You will even have a front row seat to see animals being sheared, allowing you to witness the full circle of fiber from animals to clothing, blankets, and much more.
From a fleece competition, fiber creations, and skein competition, the festival offers a variety of competitions to determine the best in show.
You will have the opportunity to see the animals and their amazing coats up close.
When you are done checking out the animals, you can watch as crafters spin the fiber into usable yarn.
This fascinating process is wonderful to watch, and will give you a higher appreciation for how natural fibers are processed and produced.
And the end products are mesmerizing, as some of the top fiber crafters in the area show their wares, such as this lace item made by Debbie Eubanks of Bohemian Creek Farm.
And you are not going to want to forget to pick up some yarn of your own.
The selection at the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival is amazing.
If you want to work with natural fibers made by local (and some not so local) artisans, this is where you want to shop for them.
The Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival takes place September 23rd and 24th at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby. For more information, visit the
