I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Oregon is widely known for its pristine waters; most notably, Crater Lake. The most famous lake in Oregon, over 700,000 people come from all over the world each year to gaze upon its azure glory. Crater Lake National Park is one of the greatest natural wonders on the planet, and it’s often named as the most beautiful place in the state. But Crater Lake isn’t the only sublime cerulean pool in Oregon. This hidden lagoon in Oregon has some of the bluest water in the state, and it’s a jaw-dropping place you’ll definitely want to visit.
Tamolitch Blue Pool is an azure oasis located at the base of Tamolitch Falls.
To get to this glorious blue pool, you'll start at the trailhead for the McKenzie River Trail, an absolutely breathtaking hike through Willamette National Forest.
The trail extends for 27 miles, offering lush forest surroundings and scenic beauty all along the way. But don't worry—you don't need to take the entire trail—the hike to Tamolitch Blue Pool is only about two miles.
Don't be in a rush to get to the pool—enjoy the journey, too! The McKenzie River is one of the most pristine bodies of water in the state, and a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts.

If you enjoyed Tamolitch Blue Pool, you’ll be delighted by the Salmon Creek Trail, a hike that leads to one of the most resplendent emerald pools in Oregon!
