Halloween is right around the corner, and there’s no better way to get in the spirit of the season than with a trip to one of the Beaver State’s haunted corn mazes. The following spooktacular mazes are filled with dark ghouls, evil ghosts, terrifying zombies, and more. Getting lost in one of these haunted corn mazes in Oregon definitely not for the faint of heart, however…
Corn mazes -- even haunted corn mazes -- are part of the regular fall festival lineup here in Oregon, but there are some fall festivals that truly take things to the next level. One of the most popular is the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta. We’re not talking about a few sorry pumpkins and tractor rides; we’re talking about costumed contestants racing inside hollowed-out, thousand-pound pumpkins. If you're not familiar with this festival, here's a bit to entice you:
The festival was started in 2004 by the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers who wanted to do a small paddle with a handful of gigantic gourds (you know, like you do)
Located in Tualatin, Oregon, the regatta now attracts thousands of spectators each year, and is easily the most fabulous fall festival in the country!
Every year in Tualatin, costumed contestants lower themselves into enormous, hollowed-out pumpkins for the Annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta.
The regatta is truly one of those "you need to see it to believe it" kind of events, and once you experience it for yourself, it will most certainly become part of your fall festival lineup!
