Take The Longest Float Trip In Oklahoma This Summer On The Illinois River

No summer is complete without a float trip down the beautiful Illinois River in northeastern Oklahoma. Many outfitters offer half-day trips but there are a few that offer a full-day trip, including Eagle Bluff Resort on the banks of the river. Eagle Bluff Resort is an outfitter located on the banks of the Illinois River near Tahlequah that offers float trips down the river. They are a full-service resort you can extend your day trip to an overnight excursion and enjoy the great outdoors.

They offer six and 12-mile float trips or you can book a longer float trip if you make arrangements before.

12-miles is the longest float trip we could find, which makes it the longest in the state. The Illinois River is a Class II river so it's pretty calm in most places.

After checking in at the resort they will load up the rafts and kayaks and bus you to the drop-off spot. Shuttle buses run every 15 minutes, so it's very quick service.

Rentals include 17-ft canoes or kayaks, or you can float in one of the resort's six-person whitewater rafts.

The leisure trip (6-miles long) takes about 2-3 hours and the adventure trip (12-miles long) takes about 4-6 hours on average to complete.
