The Magical Road Trip That Will Take You Through Ohio’s Most Charming Christmas Towns
All throughout Ohio, towns are getting into the holiday spirit. With thousands of twinkling lights and other displays, Ohio’s towns can be downright magical this time of year.
To help you find the towns with the most unique holiday displays, we’ve compiled this road trip—which we think is the perfect way to embrace the Christmas season in Ohio.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Only In Your State
The total trip only takes a little more than 5 hours of drive time. We’ve included a link to the Google Map here.

The Steubenville Nutcracker Village features the largest display of life size nutcrackers in the U.S., Christmas lights, vendors, caroling and more at the at the Fort Steuben Park. The nutcrackers will be on display from November 22nd until January 10th.

Dickens Victorian Village in Cambridge is a must-see. Take a trip back in time and explore the historic downtown of Cambridge. Until early January, the town is transformed into old world England, featuring more than 80 scenes of 180 lifelike figures representing typical scenes from Victorian society and Dickens' novels.

The Legendary Lights of Clifton Mill are featured nightly from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting) starting the day after Thanksgiving until December 31. (On Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Eve the display closes at 8 p.m.)

This half-mile wonderland of lights, displays and festival activities in Countryside Park is a popular holiday family fun attraction. It is open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly starting the day after Thanksgiving until December 23.

Light Up Middletown is open the day after Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve and features a drive-thru light display. (Donations are encouraged.) View the lights every night from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m., regardless of weather (including holidays.) It is located at 500 Tytus Ave., Middletown, OH 45042.

April Dray/Only In Your State
This popular family fun attraction features a million dancing Christmas lights synchronized to holiday music, Christmas shops, pictures with Santa, wagon and train rides and hot food and drinks. It is open the day after Thanksgiving until December 31 on Sunday - Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday - Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Christmas Ranch is located at 3205 S Waynesville Rd., Morrow, OH 45152.
