Located at the end of Ohio Avenue in Clifton, Bellevue Park is one of the many beautiful Cincinnati parks that offers stunning views of our city.
Many years ago, the Cincinnati-Clifton Incline connected Elm Street in Over-the-Rhine to Ohio Avenue in Clifton. At the top of the incline stood the Bellevue House, which was a popular spot for dancing and leisure.
While there are still remnants of this era in the area, the property is now home to a small park with interesting architecture.
The park opened in 1955, at a time when outdoor dancing was a popular activity. Therefore, the structure features a cantilever roof, bandstand, and three pergolas that form the pavilion’s unique concrete canopy. To say it's a photogenic park is an understatement.
The park is small, with just the building, restrooms, and a few benches to enjoy the surroundings.
Nowhere else in Cincinnati can you see such sweeping views of our city. You can gaze on the rooftops of OTR, take in the skyline, and point out landmarks like Music Hall and Union Terminal. You can even see the river bending on the west side!
To view the city while standing underneath the unique architecture is truly a magical experience.
Head up the hill to Clifton and take in these incredible views. If you're feeling really nostalgic, play a little music and dance under the canopy, reliving a classic Cincinnati experience.
Bellevue Park is a hidden gem in our city that will make you fall in love all over again with Cincinnati. Have you seen the view from this charming park?
