A lot has changed in downtown Cincinnati over the years, especially in Over-the-Rhine. The streets are now lined with trendy restaurants and seasonal decorations, yet the historic buildings remain much the same. One particular business on Vine Street has been a mainstay in the area for over 60 years; in a sense, it was way ahead of its time. Tucker’s Restaurant is a classic mom & pop restaurant that has been serving up delicious meals for decades and continues to do so today.
Tucker's Restaurant in OTR has overcome quite a bit over the past couple of years, but it continues to thrive today.
Tucker's is a family-owned diner that originally opened in 1946. The Vine Street location opened in 1957 and was a popular breakfast and lunch spot for years. In 2015, the restaurant was forced to close after a fire, but the community rallied and, after fundraising, the restaurant was able to reopen last year.

Aside from the necessary remodeling, not much has changed at Tucker's and the menu remains filled with breakfast and lunch classics, done the right way.
Breakfast is served all day and if it's your first time there, you must start with this. The sausage gravy is legendary and the biscuits are homemade and mouthwatering. The Classic includes hand cut hash browns and perfectly cooked eggs and bacon, sausage or, of course, goetta.
Lunch is equally as enticing, with several burger and sandwich options and the best specials around - and for the best price!
If you're really hungry, go for the special of the day. The monstrous serving of meatloaf and sides, shown above, is a steal and definitely fills your belly.

Tucker's is open Tuesday - Sunday from 7am to 3pm, and is closed on Monday.
