San Francisco has a formidable food scene, and in terms of sweet we have the best as well. If you’re looking for macarons then this is the perfect post for you. Macaron is defined as a sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. Check out these spots in the city that offer macarons and other French treats.

La Boulangerie almost closed, but has survived in San Francisco. This French American landmark is an institution in Hayes Valley for great coffee and of course great French sweets. The Macarons are delectable here!

This well known and very bakery offers macarons and many other French sweets. Expect to see at this bakery incredible croissants, tarts and brioche-based pastries, miniature layer cakes, Hermé inspired macarons, and much more. Get there early because this spot is very popular.
3. Chantal Guillon Macarons - 437 Hayes St, San Francisco, 94102
Chantal Guillon is French, and has an array of flavors to boot. There are a few locations in the city as well. Venture out to the Hayes Valley store for exquisite and authentic macarons that will make you crave for more French goodies.
4. Miette - 449 Octavia St, San Francisco, 94102
Another great spot for macarons in Hayes Valley. Miette has various macaroon flavors along with tons of candies, chocolates and their very own published pastry cookbook. Yum!
5. Le Macaron French Pastries - 3251 20th Ave, Space 156, San Francisco, 94132
Get some macarons, gelato, and espresso here. You're guaranteed to love this place in Stonestown Mall. Flavors are creative here and feature lemon, Lychee Rose Raspberry, Strawberry Key Lime, Black Currant, Raspberry, and Lavender.
6. Fillmore Bakeshop - 1890 Fillmore St, San Francisco, 94115
Family owned and operated, the Fillmore Bakeshop has great desserts. The bakeshop specializes in cakes, tarts, pastry, cookies, pies, seasonal items and wedding cakes, made from scratch.
7. L'Artisan Gourmet Parisian Macarons - 114 Maple Avenue, S. San Francisco, 94080
L' Artisan make only the finest French Macarons you can find on the market and more. They more often provide macarons to local merchants, and sell from their outlet in South San Francisco. Come by and try these delectable macarons that tend to be less sweet and more crispy.
8. YakiniQ Cafe - 1640 Post St, San Francisco, 94115
Even Japantown has places offering these French treats. This is not the specialty here, but you can expect flavors reflecting the area like Matcha, Strawberry Champagne, and more.
9. Sugar Dealer - Lower Pacific Heights, San Francisco, CA 94115
You can only order from here, but this is a great place to get fresh macarons. French macarons don't come better than from Sugar Dealer. Also, you can get cupcakes, cookies, and other sweets. Yum!
