Konditorei offers a fine assortment of pastries and desserts that one can usually find only in Europe. You'll find some typical Viennese favorites including Sacher Torte, Krapfen, Apfelstrudel, Palatschinken, and many more.
The little cafe is the result of one man's lifelong passion for sweets. Albert Kutternig was born in Austria and began training at the early age of 14 in his family's shop in Krumpendorf. He trained in Vienna and ultimately obtained a Master's Degree in Sugar Baking.
Kutternig, along with his wife, opened the Konditorei Austrian Pastry Cafe in 2000. The 3,000-square-foot building was specifically designed with Austria in mind. For instance, the exterior is painted Imperial Gold which is considered the favorite color of the Austrian royal family.
There's really something for everyone here at the Austrian bakery. Early risers will be treated to cinammon rolls, assorted fruit Danish, croissants, and coffee cakes. Or you can go the savory route and indulge in one of their ham, turkey, and cheese croissants.
You can tell that each pastry was crafted with the utmost love and care. For instance, a special Quark cheese is used in the Austrian cheesecake and 100% heavy whipping cream is used in all of the cream cakes. These special touches really let the pastries shine.
