Head up to Cavalier, North Dakota and nearby you'll find this hidden lake tucked away in the trees: the deeply blue and beautiful Lake Renwick.
Lake Renwick is part of the Icelandic State Park, which offers swimming, campgrounds, cabins, boat ramps, trails, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and just about everything else you need for a summer day out in the sun.
Along with the lake, Icelandic State Park also has the Gunlogson Nature Preserve. Walking on the trails through this place is like being transported into a different world - but it's right here in North Dakota!
You'll want to stay here from dawn until dusk when the waters turn from blue into the pastel colors of the sky when the sun is setting. It's just that gorgeous!
