The Wild Walk In New York That Takes You High Above The Treetops
As New York’s summer season comes to an end, you may be wondering what attractions in our state will still remain open for the fall and winter. Thankfully if you’re willing to head up north, there’s a year-round destination that can always you provide you with memorable outdoor adventures and family fun. Taking you down by the riverfront and up above the treetops, it’s time to let The Wild Walk bring out the adventurer in you.
Open all throughout the year, head up north to the scenic small town of Tupper Lake and you can discover one of New York State's best attractions.
The Wild Center is more than just your average natural history museum, inside you'll find a variety of animals, local art, mind-blowing exhibits, as well as a gift shop and a cafe.
You'll notice though that once you arrive, many people head to the opposite side of the parking lot to explore another area of The Wild Center.
Taking you out near the banks of the Raquette River, The Wild Walk is unlike any other attraction you'll experience here in the Empire State.
Beginning on the ground, this easily accessible treetop adventure takes you on a nice gradual incline.
The further you continue to walk along this treetop boardwalk, the higher up you'll find yourself!
You'll find several different areas of The Wild Walk to explore like swinging bridges that lead you into massive treetop exhibits and adventures.
With something for everyone to enjoy, you'll find visitors of all ages coming to check out The Wild Walk.
After you make your way across the bridges, you can head to other spots like the Bald Eagle's Nest.
The highest point on The Wild Walk, this spot takes you an additional 8-feet above the rest of the walk as you climb a small staircase and enjoy the views from the nest.
Last but not least, there's another fan-favorite that you'll find lots of people waiting for their turn to enjoy.
The Shamrock Spider Web acts as a trampoline of sorts, a web that you can walk across or bravely sit down in as you enjoy the views from here.
