The 1,000-Pound Pumpkins At The Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest In New York Will Make You Stop And Look Twice

The Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest in Upstate New York features massive pumpkins, family-friendly activities, and a pumpkin weigh-off with significant prizes.

Upstate New York is often a favorite area for people to explore, with a plethora of both hidden gems and well-known attractions available to all. At the end of the month of September, you'll even be able to find an entire festival dedicated to some of the largest pumpkins that you'll ever find in this region of the Empire State. If you're ready to experience all that our fall season has to offer, then mark this festival in your calendars ASAP!

Celebrating its fourth annual event, the Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest will once again be returning this year to Upstate New York.

On Sunday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head to Saratoga Spa State Park, and right near SPAC and just before the reflecting pond, you'll find the 2019 Giant Pumpkinfest happening on the big lawn.

A free event that's open to the public, visitors from all over New York and beyond come to see these massive pumpkins.

Last year, the Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest drew in more than 40 giant pumpkins that all entered into the weigh-off.

The pumpkinfest is the host of New York's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, where this year $8,500 dollars in prizes will be given out to those who have the largest pumpkins.

Each year, you'll find pumpkins that weigh nearly 2,000-pounds, entered by anyone and everyone from professional farmers to families that grew these massive fruits in their own backyards.

Speaking of families, this is quite the family-friendly event.

Beginning at 10 a.m., the pumpkinfest will have their Adirondack Kid Zone open as well as food vendors, delightful exhibits, and even the Spa City Farmers Market will be set up for the day right next to the festival!

At 4 p.m., the Giant Pumpkin Contest winners will be announced, after the giant pumpkins have all been put on the scale and officially weighed in.

Before the weigh-off begins, people are encouraged to take pictures of the pumpkins and selfies to show off what these farmers have created.

If you've only ever seen pumpkins that are small enough to fit inside your arms, then head to Saratoga Spa State Park for the 4th Annual Giant Pumpkinfest this year.
