The Unassuming Restaurant In Buffalo That Serves The Best Southern Food You’ll Ever Taste
Some of the best attractions that you’ll find around the Queen City are ones you may have passed by numerous times; they’re hiding in plain sight and places you never knew were right in your own backyard. Tucked between the buildings that line Ellicott Street in Buffalo, one of our favorite restaurants will transport you to an entirely different part of the country with its phenomenal southern cuisine and warm ambiance. See for yourself!
Chef James Roberts channeled his Louisiana roots to bring southern flair to Buffalo through his restaurant, Toutant.
When you first walk into the three-story eatery, you'll be greeted by a huge bar stocked full of an extensive list of moonshine, whiskey, bourbon, as well as local cider, beer, and wine.
The second floor of Toutant is where you'll find the main dining room. The spacious area overlooks all of the action downstairs at the bar.
On their main menu, you'll find southern classics like Jambalaya, Hush Puppies, Nashville Hot Chicken, Boutique Oysters, Fried Shrimp Poboy and other flavorful dishes.
Local and seasonal ingredients elevate the traditional dishes to an upscale southern comfort food dining experience. No matter what you order, you’ll be hooked after just one bite.
We'd be foolish not to mention that Toutant also offers one of the best brunches in town.
Toutant brunches are made up of everything from mouthwatering cinnamon rolls and freshly baked biscuits to in-house smoked bacon, crispy hash browns, and omelets.
And if you leave without snacking on some of the amazing beignets, you'll regret it!
If you're ready to enjoy a memorable dining experience that will make you feel like you've stepped into a small slice of Louisiana, head on over to Toutant on Ellicott Street.
Toutant is located at 437 Ellicott St., Buffalo, NY 14203. The restaurant is open for dinner on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5 p.m. to midnight, and on Friday & Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Brunch is served on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Toutant is closed on Tuesdays.
