New Jersey has well over a dozen tea rooms, each more charming than the next. A refined tradition from the Victorian era, formal teas faded away over the years but are back in all their splendor. While there are so many tea houses in New Jersey that I adore, New Leaf Tea House stands out for its whimsical atmosphere and the exceptional experience that it offers guests. You will fall in love the moment you arrive and will want to come back again and again to enjoy the lovely environment of this special place.

If you’ve been searching for “tea room near me,” The New Leaf Tea Room is the perfect answer. The New Leaf Tea Room is located in historic Riverton, New Jersey, and has been a local favorite for over 30 years. Just a short walk from the scenic Delaware River, the tea room is easily accessible from Pennsylvania off the Tacony Palmyra Bridge and from the rest of New Jersey from highways, including the Burlington Pike (130), The New Jersey Turnpike, and I-295.

The New Leaf Tea Room is one of the best New Jersey tea places you’ll find anywhere! It offers themed teas with entertaining musical, historical, and theatrical presentations. In addition to a selection of over 35 delicious teas, your meal will include their famous freshly baked scones, seasonal fruit, assorted tea sandwiches, and decadent desserts. The atmosphere is sublime with rich tapestries and unique accents. A favorite feature is their large collection of Victorian-inspired hats which you are free to borrow during your tea.

Afternoon Tea (Luncheon Tea) is served Thursday through Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Reservations are required. The New Leaf also hosts special events including a Candle Light Christmas Tea and a Charles Dickens Holiday Tea complete with a retelling of the magical story of the Christmas Carol, as told by Scrooge’s sister, Fan. The tea room will also host private events and children’s tea parties.

A visit here means more than just a magical meal. You won’t want to miss the gift shop. The gift boutique is filled with home decor, gourmet specialties, seasonal treasures, custom wreaths, collectibles, candles, and beautiful jewelry. Because this tea room specializes in tea accouterments, you will also find a varied array of teapots, teacups and saucers, publications, children’s tea sets, tea accessories as well as numerous varieties of loose-leaf teas here. If you’ve been wondering where to find tea in New Jersey, this spot is an ideal option for you.
