15 Amazing Places In New Jersey That Are A Photo-Taking Paradise
If you’re in need of some creative inspiration or are just looking for some beautiful spots to take gorgeous shots, New Jersey is the perfect place to be. We have a wide range of stunning landscapes, just waiting to be photographed. You can take some incredible photos all around the state, but the following locations are ideal for photographers of all skill levels.
1. Red Mill, Clinton
The historic Red Mill is one of the most photographed buildings in America. Every New Jersey photographer needs this shot in their portfolio. The pop of red against the rushing river makes these photos stand out.
2. Island Beach State Park, Seaside Park
Opportunities for gorgeous wildlife and ocean shots abound. If you're lucky, you'll snap one of the island's famous foxes.
3. Lakota Wolf Preserve, Columbia
If you weren't able to score a prized fox photo, you're practically guaranteed to get some good wildlife shots here. Photography is encouraged and the experience is one-of-a-kind.
4. High Point State Park, Sussex
This park offers stunning shots of High Point Monument, Lake Marcia, and the three surrounding states. The highest point in New Jersey, visitors are afforded far-reaching views, perfect for panoramic photos.
5. Cape May
The entire town is a photographer's paradise. Cape May offers charming Victorian architecture, beautiful beaches, and unique sites like the WWII bunker and wreck of the SS Atlantus.
6. Liberty State Park, Jersey City
Photographers can score great photos of New York City, the Hudson River, and, of course, Lady Liberty.
7. The Camden Waterfront
Though many are wary of Camden, the waterfront offers excellent views of the Philadelphia skyline, Benjamin Franklin Bridge, and Battleship New Jersey.

9. Duke Farms, Hillsborough
This large estate garden features a lake, water features, barns, an orchid range, hiking trails, and so much more to photograph.
10. Great Falls, Paterson
This National Park offers visitors the opportunity to snag some incredible waterfall shots. The foot bridges that cross the Passaic River allow for unique up-close photos.
11. Buttermilk Falls, Walpack Township
These falls are easily accessible by car, but hiking the Kittatinny Ridge to get there will allow additional opportunities for photography. Tillman Ravine and Hemlock Pond can be found along the trail.
12. Speedwell Lake, Morristown
This lovely lake is surrounded by trees and ideal for fall foliage shots.
13. Manasquan Reservoir, Howell
The Manasquan Reservoir seems to be one of the most surreal places in the state. An amazing sight in all seasons, it is particularly spectacular at sunrise and sunset.
14. Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, Galloway
This spot is ideal for wildlife shots, especially a wide range of birds.
15. Ringwood State Park, Ringwood
There is just so much to photograph here! The 5000-acre park is home to historic Ringwood Manor, Skylands Manor, The New Jersey Botanical Garden and the lovely Shepard Lake Recreation Area.
