BaToNa is short for Back To Nature and you'll certainly get to enjoy plenty of natural beauty along this 50-mile trail through the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Any trail through this area is at least a little spooky, being that it's the birthplace of the notorious Jersey Devil, but this trail is often ranked among the most haunted in the United States.
There are multiple places to enter and exit the trail, so you don't need to hike the entire 50 miles. Paranormal points of interest include Ong's Hat (said to be the portal to another dimension) and the Carranza Memorial, which marks the site of a tragic plane crash.

This easy, 2.5-mile loop trail will take you through an Atlantic White Cedar Forest, past cranberry bogs, and to a well-preserved historic, abandoned village.
