There's A Food Truck Trail In New Jersey And It's Everything You've Ever Dreamed Of

It has 8 incredible destinations and includes something for everyone. Though it's labeled a trail, I would consider it more of a bucket or best of list. Why? The food truck locations are constantly changing. Still, it's worth checking out. AND, wherever you are in the state, it's likely that these food trucks will end up near you at some point.

Amanda Bananas is similar to an ice cream truck, but so much better if you're dairy-free, vegan, or just trying to be a bit healthier. The base of every creation is a soft serve mixture made entirely from bananas - no sugar added. There are plenty of flavors to choose from and a variety of toppings including fresh strawberries, mini gummy bears, and hot fudge. I recommend the award-winning Banana Cream Pie with crushed graham crackers, Nutella, and whipped cream. Aroy-D means "very delicious" in Thai and this truck lives up to its name. It serves up Thai street food favorites like mango sticky rice, drunken noodle, and garlic pork. Following Hurricane Sandy, the truck could be found along the Jersey Shore, handing out free food.

The Cinnamon Snail claims to sling "the most absurdly tasty vegan food in the galactic megaplex." Over 40,000 Facebook fans seem to agree. They offer creative concoctions including the Chipotle Seitan Breakfast Burrito, Creole Grilled Tofu, and Beastmode Deluxe Burger (ancho chili seitan burger grilled in maple hickory bbq sauce, with jalapeño mac n cheese, smoked chili coconut bacon, baby arugula, and chipotle mayo on a grilled pretzel bun). Cupcake Carnivale was named by Zagat as one of 10 must-try food trucks in the US. Their gourmet cupcakes are baked fresh daily and made with all natural and premium ingredients. "Sugar, Butter, Flour and a whole lotta LOVE" is what they use! Indulge in flavors like Strawberry Lemonade, Chocolate Razzle Dazzle (with raspberry buttercream frosting), and The Happy Hour (Chocolate-Guinness Stout Beer Infused Cupcake topped with a SPICY Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting, Pretzels and Salted Caramel Drizzle). Empanada Guy is an iconic New Jersey food truck. In fact, it's several food trucks! You can find them all over the state on any given day. As you might guess, they serve up spectacular empanadas. You'll also find Cuban sandwiches, sweet corn tamales, churros, and more. The empanadas come in a variety of flavors - try the Mexican Chorizo, Bacon Potato Cheddar, or seasonal Lobster.

This food truck serves up scrumptious sandwiches and was voted the best burger truck in America for 2018 by Mobile Cuisine. Try sliders like Surf and Turf (Old Bay seasoned burgers topped with fresh crab dip and sriracha tartar) and "fat sandwiches" like Philly (a cheesesteak stuff with chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, thick cut fries, ketchup, and mayo on a hoagie). If you like fresh, flavorful cannoli, this is the truck for you. Ranked among the best in the US (much like several other spots on this trail), the owner imports shells from Sicily and makes her own mouthwatering fillings. You'll find yearly flavors like vanilla, chocolate chip, tiramisu, and Nutella, along with seasonal flavors like blueberry and peach.
