11 Things Only People From New Hampshire Know To Be True
When you grow up in New Hampshire you wind up with some very specific experiences. That means that there are some things that only people from New Hampshire know to be true. Although others may suspect them - especially number 11 - you can only understand these if you're from the Granite State.
1. The Kancamagus is great, but the back roads are even better.
2. Weather forecasts are never, ever to be trusted.
3. There is nothing – NOTHING – as refreshing as your first springtime jump in the lake.
4. There is something sacred about returning to the spot where your grandparents grew up, or vacationed, and making your own memories there.
5. Only we know who holds the first primary in the nation, and why it’s so important (because the whole nation is watching us).
6. An apple fresh off the tree is the only type of apple worth eating.
7. April may be warm and sunny, but planting season in New Hampshire never really starts until the middle of May.
8. The seasons are not equal in length. Usually fall seems to fly by before winter begins.
9. You can tell what New England state someone is from solely by the car they own and how they operate it.
10. Snow tires are not optional.
11. New Hampshire is, and will always be, the best state in the nation.
