Most People Don’t Know The Story Behind This Small Town Restaurant In New Hampshire
The small town of Walpole can be found tucked away in Cheshire County, not far from the border of Vermont. It might not be on the minds of folks traveling to places like Portsmouth and Manchester, but it’s certainly one of the most lovely spots in the entire Granite State. And, there’s one restaurant that has a little something special to it. In addition to being a lovely place to have dinner, it’s also got a fairly well-known frequent customer how also happens to be a partner in the operation.

The Restaurant at Burdick's has been delighting folks in the Connecticut River Valley for nearly 20 years.
Ken Burns moved into a farmhouse in Walpole back in 1979 when he was looking for a peaceful place to work. He went on to complete all of this documentaries with Florentine Films right here in Walpole.
With things like grilled leg of lamb with red pepper polenta and summer vegetables, it's hard not to start thinking about dinner when you're still having breakfast.
The food here is hearty, but simple. They focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, all prepared the way you might find a classic eater in France.
The Restaurant at Burdick’s is located at 47 Main St., Walpole, New Hampshire. They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m to 9 p.m. On Monday they’re open from 11:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. and on Sunday you’ll find them open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can check them out online here or visit them on Facebook.
