There's nothing we love more than a great meal! And enjoying it in New Hampshire is even better. While there are tons of great choices in the larger cities and towns dotting the state, we think some of the best can be found just off-the-beaten path. This one, located on a local farm, offers some of the best food and views you'll find.
For one of the most uniquely local dining experiences you can have in New Hampshire, head to Wilton.
Sitting on the Temple Wilton Community Farm in a restored farmhouse built in 1765 you'll find the Hilltop Cafe. This farm-to-table restaurant adheres completely to their beliefs about responsibly feeding each and every person who comes to dine.
Sitting on a biodynamic farm, the food here is local, never processed and as many ingredients as possible are sourced directly from the farm itself.
Outside dining is a treat, not just for the beauty but because you can look around the actually see where each meal's tasty ingredients have come from.
For instance, right now all of the restaurant's milk and most of their eggs come from just steps away.
Hilltop Cafe is primarily know for breakfasts and lunches, featuring the freshest eggs and a wide selection of crepes. You'll also enjoy the freshest sandwiches, salads and soups.
Many of their meals feature a variety of tastes. We especially love their grain bowls which are filled with filling and fresh ingredients.
They even have a pizza oven for the freshest pies you can imagine!
Throughout the week they close in the afternoon, just after lunch. But on Fridays and Saturdays you'll find a special dinner service.
This four-course meal features the best of what's in season and the menu changes each week. Visit on a warm day and enjoy the meal outside!
But, be sure to get reservations. These limited capacity evenings are very, very popular. Attend just one and you'll see why.
Hilltop Cafe is typically open Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. They're closed on Monday and Tuesday. You can learn more on their website or follow them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-654-2223. Looking for more unique ways to dine?
