Nature is a force to be reckoned with, and that is especially true in New Hampshire. Our untamed wilderness and fluctuating weather mean that if us humans step away – even briefly – nature will begin to creep back in, and take it for herself. Where this has happened in the Granite State, the results are stunning.
1. Madame Sherri’s Stairs are still mesmerizing.
2. This old boat has almost become part of the landscape.
3. We wonder what’s hiding in this abandoned mill in Plymouth.
4. Many old railroad tracks in New Hampshire have been converted into trails, but this one has simply been reclaimed by the woods.
5. This isn’t what you expect to see while skiing.
6. Let your imagination tell you what once stood on this foundation wall.
7. It’s hard to believe that vehicles once rolled over this bridge in Boscawen.
8. Can you tell where nature ends and this tractor begins?
9. This mill is almost invisible beneath the trees.
10. It’s dust to dust for this forgotten graveyard in Lee.
