What’s Hiding Underground In Nevada Is Beyond Eerie
Located in Lander County, Nevada, this massive mine has been abandoned for over 20 years. Mines are notoriously dangerous places, and the risk only increases with the passage of each year after maintenance efforts cease. This footage from YouTube channel "Exploring Abandoned Mines" is a nail-biting exploration of one such treacherous mine.
This silver, zinc, and copper mine closed in the 1990s. The explorers had to walk over 4,100 feet in the near-darkness in order to reach the deepest part of the mine.
The mine is filled with all sorts of oddities and interesting sights, including a homemade raft floating in a freshwater spring, a refuge chamber, and a workshop full of spare parts.
The explorers also encounter a few areas that are roped off by “danger” signs, as well as immense cliff-like stopes.
The tunnels are incredibly wide, deep and disorienting.

Not everyone would be brave enough to venture into a place as damp, dark, and dangerous as this abandoned mine. It would be so fascinating to learn more about the history of this underground maze.
