The One Loop Trail In Wyoming That’s Perfect For A Short Day Hike, No Matter What Time Of Year

Sinks Canyon State Park in Wyoming offers easy year-round hiking with scenic views and unique natural features.

Wyoming is a great state for hikers, but winter can be a challenging time of year to get outdoors. That's why it's important to have a list of great year-round hiking destinations ready to go, for when you want to enjoy fresh air without having to break trail in the tundra. Sinks Canyon State Park is one spot that offers easy year-round hiking in Wyoming.

All year long, hikers and outdoor explorers head to Sinks Canyon State Park to see the Popo Agie River and the scenery that surrounds the stream.

If you're looking for a gorgeous and easy loop trail to get yourself outdoors, it's hard to top the park's North Slope Trail.

This 2.2-mile loop covers a beautiful and peaceful nature trail with only about 300 feet of elevation gain along the way.

Along the way, you'll get to cross the river on a rustic, swaying suspension bridge. It's the kind of experience you won't want to miss!

The Popo Agie River is a gem! This wild, scenic, and roaring waterway may not be the biggest or most famous in Wyoming, but it's truly one of the most beloved.

You'll wind your way through some open grazing land, too, so look out for cows! There is also an abundance of wildlife that calls this nature trail home.

Spend a day at Sinks Canyon and wander farther from the namesake Sinks and Rise and you'll see all that this park of natural wonders has to show off.

Of course, most people do visit Sinks Canyon State Park to see the Sinks and the Rise, the odd underground river that made the park famous when it was first founded.
