It’s been one heck of a year, and it looks like it will end with a bang – at least according to the Farmers’ Almanac 2024-2025 winter forecast. It just might not be the bang you're expecting.
Now, Wisconsin is certainly no stranger to winter. The average seasonal snowfall in Wisconsin ranges from about 40-50 inches across central and northeast Wisconsin. The Vilas County snowbelt region gets over 100 inches!
For 2023/2024, the Milwaukee region received less than 20 inches of snow, which is 18 inches less than a typical Milwaukee winter. That still doesn't top the nearly snowless winter in Wisconsin back in 1968.
This year, the farmer's almanac winter forecast for Wisconsin is forecasting another mild and dry winter.
While the Snowbelt region will probably experience a typical winter in Wisconsin, the southern part of the state looks to be in for a relatively lackluster winter.
