Take A Magical Waterfall Hike In Wisconsin To Horseshoe Falls, If You Can Find It
Horseshoe Falls in Marinette County, Wisconsin, is a hidden gem that requires effort to reach but offers stunning views and seclusion.
Home to a plethora of fantastic falls, Marinette County is billed as the Waterfall Capital of Wisconsin. The county is home to some of the state’s most famous waterfalls. It’s also home to a few falls that are a bit more obscure. That’s certainly the case with Horseshoe Falls. Though located in Marinette County, not many know of its existence, as it's somewhat hidden and takes a bit of effort to reach. Take a look:
A true hidden gem, Horseshoe Falls is tucked away in the Marinette County Forest, just east of the small town of Dunbar.
Situated on a bend in the Pike River, it may not be the biggest of waterfalls but it sure is stunning!
The water from the cascade flows in the shape of a horseshoe – hence the name.
Hidden deep in the woods, accessing the waterfall requires a bit of effort.
However, the secluded locale means that you’ll likely have the place all to yourself.
So, what exactly does it take to reach Horseshoe Falls? First, you’ll have to navigate a series of unpaved roads that are covered in sand and rough gravel.
Eventually, you’ll arrive at a small parking area. From there, it’s just a short trek to the waterfall.
Keep in mind, there’s minimal signage to point you in the right direction; however, just stick to the well-beaten path and you'll be led straight to Horseshoe Falls.
