You’ll find this hidden gem of a waterfall in far western Wisconsin, just across the border from Minnesota. It’s in natural area near the St. Croix River and just south of the village of Osceola.

The waterfall is just south of town and a little off the beaten path. You’ll find the trailhead and parking area at the end of a gravel road.

The hike to the waterfall starts out easily enough, with pleasant areas of open prairie and relatively flat terrain.

As you proceed on the trail, things get a little more challenging. The trail is only a mile long, but it’s admittedly not the easiest hike. You’ll encounter stones and roots, and depending on the season, some wet logs and slippery rocks.

When you reach the waterfall, you’ll be glad you overcame the little challenges of the hike. It’s absolutely breathtaking and on many days you may have this beautiful scene to yourself. It’s a true hidden gem!
