October's quickly slipping away and, before we know it, we'll be heading into the holiday season. That means we have just a limited time to admire the spectacular colors of fall. West Virginia boasts an abundance of spots to do a little leaf peeping. One, however, may just stand out from the rest. For incredible views of the autumn landscape, plan a visit to The Grand Canyon of West Virginia.

While visitors flock to the New River Gorge all year around, you'll definitely want to check out the views when the landscape is painted in the colors of autumn.

You can, of course, visit the gorge any time during the autumn. However, you might also want to add October 19, 2019 to your calendar.

The 40th Official Bridge Day, at the New River Gorge Bridge, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free festival will feature family-friendly activities, including skydivers launching from the bridge.
