This Quaint Little Trail Is The Shortest And Sweetest Hike In Washington

You don't have to be an expert outdoor enthusiast to hike in Washington -- and in some cases, you don't have to have any hiking experience at all. The Grove of the Patriarchs Loop is a short and sweet hike any Washingtonian can do.

The Grove of the Patriarchs is located in Mt. Rainier National Park.

To reach the trailhead, follow the road past the Ohanapecosh Visitors Center and turn left onto Stevens Canyon Road, where you'll find a parking area.

The 1.2-mile loop is the definition of short and sweet.

This is a pleasant, easy hike that can be done by people of all ages, and most of the path is boardwalked.

You'll follow the wooden boardwalk as it wraps around ancient trees, some of which are nearly 300 feet tall.

You'll also cross a suspension bridge over the Ohanapecosh River.

After you cross the bridge, you'll be on a little island, where you can either go left or right (you'll end up at the same place).

This trail may be short, but there's a lot to see and do during your hike.
