Cuddle Adorable Animals All Day At Sammamish Animal Sanctuary In Washington
Sammamish Animal Sanctuary offers a peaceful retreat with free visits and opportunities to interact with and adopt rescued animals.
Sammamish Animal Sanctuary is a little piece of paradise in King County. While the farm is only about a 30-minute drive from Seattle, there's no sign of city life here... just peace, quiet, and a ton of adorable animals you can visit for free. For animal lovers, this is heaven on Earth.
Sammamish Animal Sanctuary was founded by Diane Gockel, a former high school teacher.
Gockel had a childhood dream of opening a facility like this, so it's pretty amazing that she was able to make it happen.
This is a place where formerly homeless, neglected animals, or critters needing a forever home are cared for and loved by many.
Every animal receives the best possible care thanks to generous donations and animal sponsorships.
Many of the animals here are available for adoption.
Be warned, you just might fall in love and decide to take home a new friend (of course, you'd be screened properly first).
The animals include cows, alpacas, pigs, donkeys, ducks, ponies, and more.
The goats are especially adorable.
The sanctuary is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
If you're coming with a group of 10 or more, however, they'd like you to call first.
During your visit, you'll be welcome to cuddle with some of the animals — if they're willing — and interact with them.
You can even bring your own carrots and give them a snack.
Visits to Sammamish Animal Sanctuary are free, although donations are encouraged and appreciated.
The donations are what keeps this wonderful place running.
