Glass Beach is the perfect example of a must-visit beach. It is located a little out of the way, but its unique landscape makes it worth the trip. Glass Beach is located in Port Townsend. The beach is actually part of the North Beach Park.
It is a beautiful 5.9-mile stretch that often sees little traffic due to the remote, out-of-the-way location.
To get to Glass Beach you will have to have to make your way through the park itself.
A parking lot on Kuhn St. provides proper parking. Be sure to not park at the old lot on Marina Drive! If you do, you'll likely find your car towed away.
As the name suggests, the beach is home to lots and lots of sea glass. Many visit the beach just to find the glass for jewelry, or for a collection.
Make sure to check the tides before your visit. High tides is not recommended for hikers as you will be forced to climb over fallen cliff rocks.
The view will be worth all of the effort you put into this trip though. You may also find some beach glass to take home with you!
