The Secret Garden In Washington You’re Guaranteed To Love

'Tis the season for gardening in the beautiful state of Washington, and many of our community gardens are open for the season (or they're about to be). No matter what part of the state you call home, you can find a beautiful space to enjoy lush greenery and blooming flowers. And if you happen to live in Western Washington, you'll definitely want to head to Bellingham and check out Glen Echo.

Glen Echo Garden is located 6 miles east of Bellingham in a natural, wooded setting.

To reach it, you'll drive down a country road from Highway 524. The address is 390 Y Road.

The owner, Dick Bosch, had a dream of creating a secluded garden as far back as the 1960s.

He bought the property in 1971 but didn't have the funds at the time to design the garden. After many years of planning, plotting, and eventual planting, his dream came true.

There are several small gardens on the property, each of which has its own unique flair.

The English Garden has formal pathways with groomed hedges, lillies, dahlias and hydrangeas, while the Blue Garden consists of a collection of blue flowers and shrubs.

Visitors love the Fern and Moss Garden because it feels like walking through a rainforest.

Glen Echo is open to the public Monday-Saturday from 10AM-6PM.

Admission is $12 for adults, with reduced prices for seniors and children. Children under 5 are free.

You can even rent part of the garden for your wedding or other private event.

Imagine saying "I Do" here.

Plan a trip to this magical place as soon as possible.

You'll love it.

If you can't make it to Glen Echo this year, here's a list of 15 beautiful gardens in Washington to explore.
