Welcome to the Wildlife Center of Virginia! Located in the beautiful setting of Waynesboro, this facility is one of the best native wildlife teaching hospitals in the country.

Since its beginnings in 1982, the center has helped treat over 95,000 wild animals and it has welcomed 1.5 million program attendees.

The state-of-the-art facility allows the animals to be cared for and rehabilitated, with the goal of returning to the wild.

Throughout the course of its history, over 200 different animal species have been treated. How incredible is that?

Given that it's a teaching hospital, the facility offers hands-on training opportunities to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and wildlife rehabilitators.

Most of the patients are brought into the center due to reports from concerned and caring individuals who have observed sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife.

Should you find yourself in this situation, be sure to call (540) 942 - 9453 for additional guidance. Sick and injured wildlife should be assisted only by permitted wildlife rehabilitators or veterinarians.

The center frequently hosts events and talks, all of which educate the public about their mission.
