This Virginia Waterfall Is So Hidden, Relatively Few Have Seen It In Person

The Virginia woods are brimming with beautiful waterfalls, and many of them are popular hiking destinations. Today's feature attraction is a bit different in that it's one very few people know about. Hone Quarry Waterfall is a hidden waterfall in Virginia that requires a bit of a hike but, by all accounts, it's an adventure worth taking. Tucked away in Rockingham County is a beautiful, little-known hiking destination known as the Hone Quarry Waterfall. To get there, you'll need to lace up your hiking boots.

The trek to reach the waterfall is relatively moderate, measuring a little over two miles each way.

Much of the trail is on a service road, so it's not too rocky. If you hike during the summer, you'll enjoy plenty of shade from the surrounding trees.

This probably isn't a trail you'll want to take after lots of rainfall. Reviewers have noted that the road can get very muddy.

Measuring about 15 feet, Hone Quarry Waterfall isn't the tallest of its kind, but it certainly is beautiful.

On a warm summer day, there are few sights as welcoming as a rushing waterfall. If you're hiking with a dog, they'll probably enjoy splashing around for a bit!

While the falls are particularly beautiful during a warm day, you'll have the added benefit of seeing them partially frozen when it's cold outside.

So if you're looking for a peaceful hike in nature with a waterfall finish, this secluded trail is for you!

One thing to note is that many hikers have reported a loss of cell service towards the second half of the hike. Just be sure to keep this in mind and always tell someone of your whereabouts if you're planning to hike alone.
