Today's feature hiking trail flies a bit under the radar, but it's bound to impress any outdoor enthusiast. The Buzzard Hill Trail in Virginia features not just a waterfall but a gorgeous scenic overlook as well. Plus, you'll get to enjoy some of the famed Appalachian Trail along the way. Located near Bluemont, Virginia awaits a hiking adventure you won't want to miss. Buzzard Hill Trail via Appalachian Trail is a 3.4-mile out-and-back trek that's considered moderate in difficulty.

This hike will lead you to the summit of Buzzard Hill, following a portion of the famous Appalachian Trail.

In fact, along the way, you'll notice signage pointing to the southern terminus of the A.T. in Springer Mountain, Georgia -- 1,000 miles away!

Another hidden gem you'll encounter is a gorgeous waterfall. It's a rather small waterfall, but if you see it after a heavy rain, you'll find it's especially captivating.

The trail also offers scenic overlooks along the way, which are a great place to stop and take in the surroundings.

Of course, there's no wrong time of year to enjoy this beautiful Virginia trail. Just be sure to pack plenty of water and wear appropriate hiking shoes as the trail can get rocky in places.
