Can you keep a secret?
Because today, we'd like to introduce you to a beloved, little-known Virginia swimming hole that has all the makings for the perfect summer adventure. Arnold Valley Pool is located near Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, and can be accessed along the same road where you'll find Devil's Marbleyard. Arnold Valley is a unique Virginia swimming hole because it features a waterfall and rope swing for those daring enough to jump in. In fact, it's one of the best swimming holes with rope swings in Virginia. Here's more on why you'll want to check out this swimming spot, and most importantly, keep it protected by leaving it as beautiful as you find it.
The adventure to Arnold Valley Pool starts on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At Milepost 71, you'll notice an unmarked gravel road that will take you down the mountain for a few miles.
Once you've reached the bottom of the mountain, you'll want to park just before the second small bridge you come across. Amazingly, this beautiful swimming hole is just a couple hundred feet from the road.
Because it's relatively unmarked, this hiding-in-plain-sight swimming hole is totally underrated.
Like many of Virginia's incredible swimming holes, Arnold Valley Pool is spring-fed, so the water is always refreshing and brisk.
Feeling adventurous? Try your hand at the 20-foot rope swing located on-site. The water is deep enough near the boulders where the rope swing is, so you can jump in safely.
That being said, always wade into the water first to navigate any big rocks under the water and double-check on the water's depth, which can change depending on rainfall.
Whether you're swimming or just admiring the beautiful scenery, you'll agree that Arnold Valley Pool is a hidden gem worth experiencing.
So, what are your thoughts on this little-known swim spot? Do you agree that it's one of the best swimming holes with rope swings in Virginia?
