This Just Might Be The Most Beautiful Hike In All Of Texas
Texas is a huge state with tons of parks, so there are many different places to go hiking. That being said, none of them are as ideal as Big Bend National Park - specifically 'The Window' Trail. It's less than five miles, wheelchair accessible, and offers arguably the most breathtaking view in all of Texas. The weather will start cooling down soon, so it's the perfect time of year to enjoy this beautiful hike.
You'll start at the Chisos Basin Trailhead at the base of the mountains.
The view is amazing even from this far away, so it's hard to imagine it getting any better...but it most certainly does.
As you begin your ascent, the mountain walls rising up on either side of you will transport you to a different world - the amazing world of nature.
The spiral staircase carved out of rock will lead you higher and higher...
...until the view of a lifetime unfolds before your eyes.
You can peer through "The Window" from different angles...
...and maybe even watch the sunset between the twin peaks.
You'll have a newfound appreciation for nature as a whole...
...and realize how majestic our great state of Texas truly is.
If you're handicapped, you can still experience the trail in the same way as everyone else.
There's a .3 mile, wheelchair accessible route that provides a perfect view of The Window. There are even benches to sit and watch the sunset with your loved ones.
Agile or sedentary, handicapped or not, young or old, everyone can enjoy The Window trail equally and not miss out on the tremendous beauty that Big Bend has to offer.
Have you ever hiked The Window trail? What about other trails at Big Bend?
