This Tennessee Zoo Has One Of The Most Spectacular Christmas Light Displays You’ve Ever Seen

The Memphis Zoo has long been considered one of the best zoos in the state, but it was most recently listed as one of the top five zoos in the nation by USA Today. Whether or not you're an "animal person," there's nothing like the Memphis Zoo Christmas lights to make your holiday memorable. So get ready this year for some of the best Memphis Christmas lights.

The Memphis Zoo puts on a holiday light event every year, and it's been recognized as one of the top 20 zoo light displays in the United States. It's also home to the only outdoor ice skating rink in Memphis, and chock full of gorgeous light designs and adventures for folks of all ages.

There are nearly one million lights on display throughout the zoo during the light event, and you may even wander across a singing Christmas tree or two...

There are crafts for kids, a free carousel ride, a chance to meet Santa, and even fall in love with all sorts of new exhibits just in time to celebrate the season. There's a Ferris wheel ride as well as a monster truck ride that has stolen the hearts of locals and tourists alike, especially little ones.

Make sure to purchase your advance tickets online to skip the lines and get through the zoo gates faster. You can visit from November 24, 2023 to January 6, 2024 at 2000 Prentiss Place in Memphis, Tennessee. Open hours run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., so make sure you show up early and are ready for a memorable evening.
