Tennessee is known for its beautiful and expansive open spaces, each one offering a different persepctive of life here. If you live in Chattanooga or the vicinity, you already know how much we love taking a walk down the Tennessee Riverwalk. Fall in love with the beauty of our home state and city all over again (our visitors love it too!) with a trip down to the waterfront for a walk or a bike ride. It makes for a beautiful way to spend the day!
The Tennessee Riverwalk runs for 16.1 miles along the banks of the Tennessee River.
It begins in downtown Chattanooga, and locals love it for its clean and paved walkways and the beautiful landscaping along the path.
Since the Tennessee Riverwalk is conveniently located on the edge of Chattanooga's bustling downtown...
... it's easy to rent a bike and make your way along the trail on two wheels or your own two feet.
The trail itself is moderately trafficked and easy for folks of all ages to traverse.
There are a few easy inclines, but not many. The scenic views, however, are truly what elevates this greenway to the next level.
The Riverwalk begins near the Chattanooga Aquarium and will take you by the famed Ross's Landing Park and beautiful Bluff View Art District.
Cross the river and you can catch an afternoon at the Hunter Museum of American Art, one of the best museums in the state.
Speaking of aquariums...
...the Tennessee Aquarium is also one of the best of its kind in the country.
Chattanooga isn't known as the "Scenic City" for nothing.
The Tennessee Riverwalk is a perfect walking spot, the best place to grab a picnic by the river and serves as a great jumping-off point for watersports.
There's so much to do in Chattanooga...
... and the Tennessee Riverwalk is a wonderful place to enjoy year-round.
Even at night its a spectacular place to enjoy the city lights.
So grab a few friends or come with the family, and check out one of the most popular places in Tennessee!
