This Epic Mountain In South Carolina Will Drop Your Jaw

Have you seen the giant hunk of granite known as Table Rock, elevation 3,124, in Pickens County in South Carolina? This epic mountain will drop your jaw.

Situated in the northwest corner of South Carolina, Table Rock juts out from the earths surface reaching for the heavens at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It's been the object of exploration and adoration for centuries. The area was inhabited by the Cherokee Indians who belived a great Spirit existed in these mountains and manifested in the form of the blue haze seen along the ridges of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Cherokee named this rock Table Rock because they believe the great Spirit dined on the rock.

The view from Highway 11, The Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, is truly spectacular.

But perhaps the view from the top of Table Rock is the real money shot.
