Rock Hill was one of three South Carolina cities named a "Boom Town" by the New York Times in December 2021. The list of 20 total cities was determined based on changes in population, gross domestic product, household income, number of housing units and commercial establishments, and unemployment rates. In 2024, "Money" magazine included Rock Hill in its list of best places to live. People are certainly taking notice of this area of the state, and if you're interested in checking it out one of the best places to start is Fountain Park in Rock Hill.
Located on East Main Street, Fountain Park offers a scenic space in the heart of downtown Rock Hill with green space and a small performance venue.
Of course, as you can gather from the name of the park, the main attraction is an enchanting 90-foot by 70-foot water fountain with illuminated displays and cycles of dancing water shows. It takes about 10-15 minutes to see all four of the different ensembles and the water reaches over 30 feet at its highest moments.
A picturesque view of Rock Hill's beautiful downtown district serves as the perfect backdrop for the fountain. From this angle, you can see the historic First Presbyterian Church of Rock Hill which began in 1854 when Rock Hill established as a railroad town.
Rock Hill's Fountain Park is a lovely place to stop by for a moment to relax and enjoy the peaceful sounds and sights of the fountain, day or night. There are free parking spaces nearby.

A great time to visit would be every third Friday from May to September during the Food Truck Friday event held at Fountain Park in Rock Hill. Admission is free and along with the food you'll also enjoy children's activities and live music.
